Allegheny Power and American Electric (PATH) have been trying to keep people out based on education and professional experience - given that this is YOUR land, don't you think this is a bit unethical? If you missed the July 13, 2009 deadline to petition - you are too late to be an Intervenor, even if you own land that is in question and you failed to see the ad in the newspaper. STEP THREE:
Contact your County Board of Commisioners and request that they file for a PSC meeting to be held in your area.
STEP FOUR:
Go to the meetings make yourself heard. Do not be of the mindset "it's not in my backyard so it doesn't really affect me." This is what PATH wants you to think. The want property owners to fight with each other. The goal is to keep PATH out altogether. They will try to confuse you. Do not be gullible and do not be fooled.
If your property is directly affected by PATH, representatives will be coming to knock on your door in June and July to "tell you about right-of-way" that they have on YOUR land. Be prepared.
See the below file called "PATH Code of Conduct" to see what they are and are not allowed to say to you and to see what you are allowed to say to them. I would suggest that you read it and print it out and tape it to your front door. If you have neighbors who do not have a computer, print it out and give them a copy.
