My father fought in Vietnam and has already been exposed to Agent Orange. My parents are just trying to live a simple life in the country. Now the power companies are going to try to shaft them and force them to live in fear of EMF and have our beautiful land destroyed.  Makes a person really want to fight for their country.  Because of the stress of this PATH project, my dad has been forced into early retirement.  He can't even be at peace and work on the farm because he's not sure if the land will be taken or not.

Governor Manchin - I thought you said in your 2010 State of the State address that we should honor our veterans?  As usual, I see you lied.  You are a bastard.

Allegheny Energy and American Electric:
Hasn't my father paid his dues already?  Do you really need to run a power line in his backyard?  How dare you just fly over property and decide to draw a line through a map where you decide to put a high voltage power line.  You show NO respect for the people who live nearby.  Our electric bill pays your salaries.  Essentially we have paid you to destroy us.  And we get a rate hike in addition?

You need to route this line at least 1 mile from everyone.  Perhaps go through existing government owned land. In the very least you should compensate the people who are being forced to give up their land for not only the value of the land, but also taking into account the destruction of the property in entirety, devaluation of land, destruction of family heritage, emotional attachment to land, emotional distress, and being able to afford a decent place to live if the residences decide to not expose themselves to harmful EMF radiation.

Can't you figure something else out that doesn't screw people?  Ever thought of the courtesy in contacting affected landowners prior to your joke of an announcement in the newspaper that someone may or may not see?  You just decide to run a line through and so you file paperwork and then the rest of us are forced to spend time and money fighting just to protect land that was ours in the first place? At your whimsy?

How many of your executives have a line routed through their yard?  Maybe we could reroute this line to run through YOUR yards...since..according to YOU "it is not harmful."

Allegheny Energy and American Electric - other than taking away peoples land and destroying the environment for the whim of big business under the guise of "supposed necessity"... what is it exactly that you are doing for our country?  Paul Evanson and Mike Morris, CEOS of the power companies and millionaires - were either of you ever in the military or have you just spend your time creating your fortunes?

FIND ANOTHER ROUTE or  STAY OUT, in the very least TAKE CARE OF THE PEOPLE WHOSE LAND YOU ARE RUINING.  Do not take advantage of them.  Or do you think that your mint juleps and long lunches are worth the lives of others?

If it is truly for the "benefit" of America.  The people giving up their land should be treated like heroes and More-Than-Duly compensated.  Not punished.

Either pay the people a good price or remove West Virginia from the Energy Corridor.  There is no other acceptable solution.  Our state has suffered enough.  We already have poisoned our waters and air and obtained strange illnesses in order to "serve the nation" and now we are supposed to give more?
